WCNY to air WCNY/The Post-Standard, Syracuse.com Spelling Bee at 2 p.m. March 2

WCNY, Central New York’s community-owned flagship public broadcaster will present the live WCNY/The Post-Standard, Syracuse.com Spelling Bee on WCNY-TV at 2 p.m. March 2. For viewing information, visit wcny.org/wheretowatch.
Hundreds of students competed in local bees to participate in this year’s WCNY/The Post-Standard /Syracuse.com Spelling Bee. Nearly 175 of the top spellers advanced to the regional level written test.
Watch 35 students compete in the live oral bee, hoping to become a local champion to travel to Washington, D.C. to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in late May.
The Spelling Bee is judged by Mark Murphy and Tom Boll. Pronouncer is Johanna Keller. The Spelling Bee will be hosted by WCNY’s Diane Jones, on-air host on Classic FM.
The televised Spelling Bee is sponsored by Prevention Network.
