WCNY launches ‘Won’t You Help a Neighbor?’ – Starts by featuring Humane Association

WCNY is launching a new campaign called “Won’t You Help a Neighbor?” to use its television, radio, web, print and social media to help make Central New Yorkers aware of important local causes. The campaign begins by drawing attention to the Humane Association of Central New York’s annual Drop-A-Thon, Silent Auction and Open House fundraising event, Sept. 22.

“Central to WCNY’s mission is connecting with and giving back to the community that supports us,” said Robert J. Daino, WCNY’s President and CEO. “We are pleased to use our media platforms to focus attention on the efforts of dedicated organizations, like the Humane Association of Central New York, that help make our community a great place to live.”

Prior to the Sept. 22 event, anyone wishing to help the Humane Association can drop off items at the Humane Association located at 4915 ½ West Taft Road, Liverpool, or at WCNY, 506 Old Liverpool Road, Liverpool, during normal business hours.

Items include gently used blankets, sheets, towels, pet beds, litter pans, canned cat and dog food, dry cat food, catnip treats for cats, dog treats, cat and dog toys, non-clumping litter, air fresheners and laundry detergent. Monetary donations also are appreciated.

Items also can be brought to the event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Humane Association. Stop by anytime to donate items and enjoy live music, baked goods, more than 200 auction items and many giveaways. WCNY’s Clifford the Big Red Dog also will attend to support his four-legged pals.
