This week on WCNY: ‘Insight’ looks at economic development funding in Syracuse, ‘Financial Fitness’

WCNY’s weekly public affairs program “Insight” will feature a special report about Central New York’s economic development funding. Co-hosts Susan Arbetter and Jim Aroune interview John Currier of Currier Plastics about the first round of state funding the Cayuga County manufacturer received. Robert Doucette, of Paramount Realty Group, will talk about how funding will help to develop the former Sibley’s Department Store building in downtown Syracuse. Robert Simpson, CEO of CenterState CEO, also joins the show to discuss the first and second rounds of the Economic Development funding, how Central New York benefitted from these projects and what we can expect from future stimulus packages. The show airs Fridays at 9 p.m. on PBS (24.1) and re-airs at noon on Sundays on World (24.3). It can be streamed any time at http://www.wcny.org/insight.
“Financial Fitness,” WCNY’s weekly live financial show, will provide viewers with a 2013 investment outlook in this week’s show. Host Jim Burns and a team of panelists will provide viewers with their thoughts about the stock market, bond funds, international investments, and what percentage of a portfolio should be cash. Panelists include John Lombardo, CFA, Chief Investment Officer and Founding Partner at Blue Water Capital Management in Syracuse; Peter Ward, President and CEO of Ward Wealth Management in Cazenovia; and George Urist, a Certified Financial Planner and President of Urist Financial and Retirement Planning in East Syracuse. The show airs at 8 p.m. Thursdays on PBS (24.1) and re-airs at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Fridays and Sundays on Time Warner Digital Cable channel 854.
