The Kingston Symphony is a professional orchestra made up of approximately 55 musicians, many of whom have chosen to live in Kingston because of the performance opportunities the orchestra provides. There is a core of 11 musicians under annual contracts, with the remaining players hired on a per service basis.The Kingston Symphony Association produces and promotes professional quality programs of instrumental and choral music for the education, enjoyment and enrichment of audiences. and is dedicated to the support, development and showcasing of Canadian artists and composers.
The Association is the umbrella organization for six performing ensembles including the Kingston Symphony, the Kingston Choral Society, the Kingston Youth Orchestra, the Kingston Youth Strings, the Kingston A-Strings, and the Kingston Community Strings.
