Experience the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse in New York!

On Monday, April 8, New York will offer prime locations for viewing a solar eclipse visible across North America. The eclipse will start its path in Mexico and traverse multiple midwestern states in the U.S. before becoming visible in New York later in the afternoon. The partial eclipse is set to begin in western New York shortly after 2 p.m. and conclude at approximately 4:30 p.m. For total eclipse viewing times, visit science.nasa.gov.

Friday, April 5 from 6-8 p.m. at the WCNY-TV Studios
Join us at the WCNY-TV Studios on Friday, April 5 for a night of cosmic creativity as we celebrate the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse! Embark on a guided artistic journey led by the talented artists of “Sip of Color,” crafting your very own eclipse-themed painting. Enjoy light hors d’Oeuvres, wine and beer samples, Solar Eclipse-themed trivia and giveaways, and so much more! Ticket prices include professional instruction from “Sip of Color, a Syracuse Mobile Paint and Sip,” as well as art supplies, paints, brushes, and a 16×20 canvas.

Solar Eclipse Paint NightDisclaimer: This raffle is conducted by WCNY, a registered non-profit organization in the state of New York. All proceeds from this raffle will directly support our charitable initiatives in the community.
Official Raffle Rules:
1. Eligibility: The raffle is open to legal residents of New York State who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
2. Raffle Period: The raffle begins on March 25 and ends on April 5. All entries must be received by 11:59 PM on April 5.
3. How to Enter: To enter the raffle, individuals must make a minimum donation of $25 to WCNY at the designated location or online at https://donate.wcny.org/wcny/raffle. You may enter the raffle without making a contribution by emailing membership@wcny.org. However, we really hope you’ll choose to support our fundraiser, which allows us to do things like provide free eclipse glasses to our community!
4. Prize: The prize for this raffle is Celestron POWERSEEKER 127EQ TELESCOPE.
5. The prize is non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash or other merchandise.
6. Drawing and Notification: The raffle drawing will be conducted on Saturday April 6. The winner will be randomly selected from all eligible entries received. The winner will be notified by phone or email within 48 hours of the drawing.
