Horns & Harmonies: Dec. 23 at 8 p.m.
It’s an annual tradition! Join host Bruce Paulsen for The Concert Hall on Saturday, December 23 at 8 p.m. for this year’s Horns & Harmonies concert from Syracuse University. Once again, the SU Brass Ensembled is joined by the Spirit of Syracuse Chorus for a concert of Christmas favorites, recorded live in Hendricks Chapel on the SU Campus. Songs of peace and songs of joy to fill your evening!
Nine Lessons and Carols: Dec. 24 at 10 a.m.
Pipedreams host Michael Barone presents this live service of spoken-word and music (choral and organ) broadcast live from the chapel of King’s College in Cambridge, England. The 30-voice King’s College Choir performs the legendary Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols service of Biblical readings and music.
Christmas Classic Choices Live: Dec. 25 from 6 a.m. to Noon
It’s a holiday tradition—Classic Choices Live on Christmas Morning with WCNY Classic FM host Diane Jones! Join Diane from 6 a.m. until noon on Christmas Day and share these holiday favorites with friends and family far and wide.
Christmas at 33 1/3: Dec. 25 at 6 p.m.
Chris Cresswell has gone crate digging through his collection of vinyl records once again, and returns to Classic FM with his third annual “A 33 1/3 Christmas” special! Featuring your favorite holiday recordings from yesterday with all the pops, crackles, and occasional skips, spend part of your Christmas day with the sounds of Grandma’s house.
New Year’s Day Live from Vienna: Jan. 1 at 11 a.m.
The Vienna Philharmonic presents its ever-popular New Year’s Day concert from the Golden Hall of Vienna’s Musikverein with Cleveland Orchestra’s Music Director Franz Welser-Möst conducting. This year there is an appearance by the Vienna Boys Choir and, for the first time, the Vienna Girls Choir. It’s a great way to start the New Year. Hosted by WBUR’s Lisa Mullins, another annual tradition on WCNY Classic FM!
