Repeating History, Episode 2 – Dr. Michael Oberg on Haudenosaunee History

This episode of Repeating History brings to the forefront a history that is often overlooked, that of the Haudenosaunee and the rise and fall of Onondaga. Host Robert Searing welcomes one of the nation’s foremost scholars on the subject, Dr. Michael Oberg, Distinguished Professor of History at SUNY-Geneseo. The discussion covers a host of topics but focuses on the impact of the American Revolution on the People of the Longhouse and their diplomatic relations with the state of New York and Federal authorities. Professor Oberg is the author of numerous books on Native American history, including Peacemakers: The Iroquois, the United States, and the Treaty of Canandaigua, 1794, (New York: Oxford University Press, 2015), which should be required reading for anyone living in New York State.
