Our New Neighbors, Episode 22 – Augustine Wait

From refugee to U.S. Army Reservist. Our guest on this edition of Our New Neighbors is Augustine Wait. Augustine’s parents fled Bhutan in the midst of civil war when they were just children. Augustine was born in a refugee camp in Thailand and lived there until age 11, when her family was able to migrate to the United States. Once settled in Central New York, she graduated from Henninger High School, attended Onondaga Community College and Cortland State, and since then has joined the U.S. Army Reserve, where she is a sergeant and logistics expert. She aspires to a career in the military. Listen as Augustine tells her remarkable story to host Ibrahim Mohamed.
