“Move swift as the Wind and closely-formed as the Wood. Attack like the Fire and be still as the Mountain.” – Sun Tzu
Earth, air, fire, and water. Our understanding of the four elements has changed over the centuries. Some revered them, seeking an understanding of their mystical properties. Others tried to tame them, subdue them. We’ve grown from a belief that everything in the world is made of just these four elements, to a modern scientific understanding of what the elements themselves are made of. And still, they touch the artists’ heart, inspiring awe and creativity, and we’ll hear that in the works on today’s program.
