Hatem, Landry, Lemondes, Marra, join WCNY, Hanrahan promoted

WCNY, Central New York’s public broadcaster, is pleased to announce the following staff appointments and promotion:
Cristina Hatem, of Jamesville, joins WCNY as vice president & chief marketing officer. Hatem brings more than 25 years of integrated marketing, sales, event, and community engagement experience to WCNY. She is responsible for the development and execution of WCNY’s brand, marketing, sales, and public relations efforts, in alignment with WCNY’s mission, vision and values. Prior to joining WCNY, she served as marketing communications manager at JADAK, manager, corporate marketing communications, customer & market research at Preferred Mutual Insurance Co., among other positions at Beard Miller Company, Mower, and Sage Marcom Inc. She earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, and a master’s degree in teaching from Le Moyne College.
Will Landry, of East Syracuse, joins WCNY as media sales account executive. He brings more than 14 years of sales and relationship development experience to WCNY. He is responsible for securing media sales support from local, state, and national companies and organizations. Prior to joining WCNY, he was a media buyer and strategist at ABC Creative Group. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Oswego.
Martha Lemondes, of Jamesville, joins WCNY as vice president & chief people officer. Lemondes brings more than 20 years of training, human resources and organizational development experience to WCNY. She has led teams of training professionals, partnered with senior executives, and managed projects that span all areas of human performance. Prior to joining WCNY, she served as human resource business partner at Charter Communications, director of people development at AOL, and owner of a human capital solutions practice in the Washington D.C./Baltimore area. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University, and a Master of Arts degree from The American University.
Caroline Marra, of Camillus, joins as associate director, education. She is responsible for the management and marketing of WCNY’s Enterprise America program, a hands-on experiential learning program for middle school students. Prior to joining WCNY, she served as the lead Universal Prekindergarten teacher at Cayuga Seneca Community Action Agency. She earned a dual bachelor’s degree in childhood education and special education, with a concentration in French from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
Shannon Hanrahan, of Syracuse, was promoted from director, individual giving to vice president & chief development officer. Hanrahan was recognized for her commitment and donor-centric approach to propelling WCNY’s membership goals to new record highs. Prior to joining WCNY, she was major gifts officer at sister station WSKG in Binghamton. Hanrahan earned a bachelor’s degree in writing and art history from Ithaca College, and a master’s degree in art history from the Courtauld Institute of Art.
