WCNY to Host Harriet Tubman Screening Event in Partnership with the Seward House Museum

WCNY, Central New York’s community-owned public broadcaster, in partnership with the Seward House Museum, will host the “Harriet Tubman: Visions of Freedom” screening and discussion event on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 5:30 p.m. at the Carriage House Theater in Auburn, NY.
The event will explore the inspiring woman who repeatedly risked her own life and freedom to liberate others from slavery. The event begins with a welcome reception at 5:30 p.m. with light refreshments, followed by the screening of the PBS documentary, “Harriet Tubman: Visions of Freedom” at 6 p.m. A live Q&A panel discussion with local experts will begin immediately following the screening.

– Judith Gladys Bryant, Great-Great Grandniece of Harriet Tubman
– Vanessa Johnson, Griot and Storyteller in the West African Tradition
– Kimerly Cornish, A Native of Cambridge, MD and Collateral Descendant of Harriet Tubman
– Justin Harris, Tour Guide and Former Interpretive Intern for the Harriet Tubman National Historical Park
