Wilmeth Sidat-Singh’s Syracuse basketball #19 proudly hangs from the rafters of the JMA Dome. But, for many he is the “greatest athlete you never heard of.” In this edition of Central Current Radio, host Dr. Rick Wright talks to SU graduates Rick Burton and Scott Pitoniak, authors of “Invisible No More,” a new historical novel chronicling Sidat-Singh’s life as an outstanding two-sport SU athlete of the 1930s, his inability to play professional sports due to segregation, and his ultimate sacrifice as a member of the Tuskeegee Airmen.
