Free Tuition, Free Training: Applications Now Open for the Winter Session of WCNY’s Entertainment Academy!

WCNY, Central New York’s public communications organization, is thrilled to announce that applications are now open for the winter session of WCNY’s Entertainment Academy, with classes scheduled to start on Jan. 2, 2025. WCNY’s Entertainment Academy is a fourteen-week training program offered two times a year (fall and winter sessions) in the TV and film production trades. The Academy provides training for the next generation of television and film production engineers, electricians, set designers, sound mixers, and camera operators to help support the growing entertainment industry in Central New York. Our New Neighbors, Episode 24 – Laura Angelica Espino Del Angel

Laura Angelica Espino Del Angel says she came from her native Mexico to Central New York for love, to join the man she would soon marry. That was 22 years ago, in 2002. Today, Laura is a U.S. citizen, and she and her husband have a beautiful family with three children. Laura is part of the Syracuse City School District’s Refugee Assistance Program, also known as “Bob’s School,” where she works with refugees and immigrants every day. Laura tells her story to co-hosts Maryna Bagovska and Ibrahim Mohamed in this edition of Our New Neighbors.
