2024 Special Olympics New York State Winter Games

On Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, approximately 600 athletes and coaches from across New York participated in the 2024 Special Olympics New York State Winter Games. The athletes competed in four events: floorball, alpine skiing, figure skating, and snowshoeing. These events brought people together and provided athletes with the opportunity to compete in authentic sports, showcasing their talents and strengths. WCNY is excited to bring viewers an in-depth look at the Games with a special airing on Thursday, July 25 at 5 p.m. on WCNY-TV. The Academy provides training for the next generation of television and film production engineers, electricians, set designers, sound mixers, and camera operators to help support the growing entertainment industry in Central New York.
