WCNY’s TelAuc Returns for 43rd Year

A Central New York television tradition will continue starting Thursday, April 19, when TelAuc – WCNY’s Great TV Auction – returns for its 43rdconsecutive year. The popular television auction, presented by M&T Bank, will air on WCNY channel 24.1 from 6 p.m. to midnight April 19 to 22 and April 26 to 29. From celebrity auctioneers to incredible bargains, TelAuc has become a cultural treasure in WCNY’s 19-county viewing area. “We’re thrilled to continue the TelAuc tradition and we’re confident there will be something for everyone over the eight nights of bidding,” said Robert J. WCNY Names Tonello as VP of Advancement, Communications and Content Delivery

WCNY-TV/FM, Central New York’s public media company, has named John S. Tonello, of Baldwinsville, as Vice President of Marketing and Communications. Tonello will be responsible for driving the strategy and execution of all WCNY advancement activities, including the completion of the $20-million “Campaign for WCNY,” membership, volunteers and events, development, grants and overall fundraising. The “Campaign for WCNY” is the capital campaign to raise the remaining $3.5 million needed to complete funding for WCNY’s new Broadcast and Education Center in downtown Syracuse. WCNY Announces Treehouse Tales Winners

WCNY-TV/FM is pleased to announce the winners of its annual Treehouse Tales Young Writers & Illustrators Contest. Open to students from first through fourth grade, the contest promotes literacy and creative expression by asking children to write and illustrate their own stories.
