Visual Storytelling Summer Camp

WCNY and SUNY Oswego are Proud to Present Visual Storytelling Summer Camp 2025!

Spend three exciting weeks this summer learning about visual storytelling and audiovisual production. The program will be offered from July 7-21 on Mondays-Fridays, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at the WCNY-TV Studios in Syracuse, NY. During each program, participants will learn the principles of storytelling, character development, storyline, plot and resolution, and visual storytelling techniques like video recording, audio recording, and video editing.

Ten lucky applicants who are entering 9th-12th grade will have the opportunity to be selected to participate in this program completely free! To be considered, please fill out an online or hard-copy application and submit a short essay explaining why you should be considered to be part of this experience.

Applications are open NOW-June 1.

  • Use the following questions as a guide. What is the story you would like to produce in a short film? What do you love about visual storytelling? What do you see yourself doing as a career? Be creative, energetic and prove to us that you deserve to be selected.
